International Students: A Visa to Learn
International Students wishing to enroll for career programs must obtain the necessary documents required for entry into Canada.
Temporary Resident Permit (Visitor Visa)
A Temporary Resident Permit (Visitor Visa) or Visitor Status is required for students who wish to take a course for a period of six (6) months or less.
Student Permit (Student Visa)
Students wishing to study for longer than six months must obtain a Student Permit (Student Visa). You must apply in advance to the nearest Canadian Embassy or Consulate with your Letter of Acceptance.
The Canadian Immigration offices usually require each Visa applicant to apply eight weeks prior to the start of the program. The application process time varies based on your country of origin so it is best to start the process as soon as you receive your Letter of Acceptance. If the request for a Visa is rejected, the applicant must return the original Letter of Acceptance from the school and a copy of the Letter of Rejection from Canadian Immigration. For further information on Visa applications, contact your nearest Canadian Embassy or Consulate or visit the official website. http://www.cic.gc.ca
