On Tuesday, December 6, 2016.  Students from LaSalle College Vancouver’s Fashion Marketing class organized “Fashion Has Heart” – a charity pop-up shop and toy drive.  Even with their end-of-semester finals approaching, our kind-hearted students still volunteered their time to connect with the neighborhood, pulled together all resources they could find to raised fund and collect toys for BC Children’s Hospital.

At the pop-up shop, there were many different kinds of stocking stuffers, including hand-made key chains and accessories (made by our Jewellery Design students), reusable coffee cup sleeves, Christmas cards and scented bath salt just to cite a few. You could even get your caricature created! A total of $538 dollars was raised to BC Children’s Hospital in a short 4.5 hours, and brought a warm and festive atmosphere to our campus.

Our sister language school - CSLI’s students also donated many handmade Jewellery from their Friday activity at Granville Island. Our neighbor school - Westside School also helped us collect toys and extend the invitation to their students and family.

A special thank you to Kristian Stevens for bringing this great idea and taking the lead of this project. We would also like to say a big thank you to every single one involved in making this happen. Your effort and time were greatly appreciated. We know that this holiday season, many kids’s Christmas is brighter because of you!
