On February 8th, Melissa Yin, who recently graduated from LaSalle College Vancouver’s Fashion Design diploma program, showcased her own collection at New York Fashion Week Fall Winter 2018.
Melissa Yin’s collection was part of the Global Fashion Collective at New York, a program by Vancouver Fashion Week to introduce booming and emerging Canadian and international designers. As the fastest growing fashion week worldwide, Melissa's participation at New York Fashion Week has been a great opportunity for global development, international visibility and exposure.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Melissa was born in China and moved to Canada in 2012. As a child, she always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. Melissa studied Fashion Design at LaSalle College Vancouver, from where she recently graduated in December 2017 with a diploma, Best of Show award, as well as Dean’s Honor Roll recognition.
Melissa is now the owner and designer of her own label, Melissa Yin. She has showcased her designs as a student during Vancouver Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017 in September, and will also be showcasing her own collection – Melissa Yin – at Vancouver Fashion Week Fall Winter 2018 in March.
