Sustainability in Fashion is one of the most discussed topics in the recent years. LaSalle College Vancouver(LCV) would also like to join the ally in promoting awareness and educating students in sustainable design and eco-consciousness.

LaSalle College Vancouver is proud to join forces with Eco Fashion Week, a non-profit organization dedicated to stimulating the growth and development of sustainable practices in the fashion and clothing industry. Eight of our Fashion Design students from both LCV’s Yaletown campus and Renfrew campus are taking up The Fairmont Waterfront Chic Sheet Challenge – using recycled hotel bed sheets and Tintex dyes to create a collection of runway ready garments. This year, to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, student designers will also draw inspirations from Canada’s nature and diverse cultures. The results of the Chic Sheets Challenge will be debuted on March 31 at Eco Fashion Week. The collection will also be showcased at the Fairmont Waterfront hotel after the event.

Here are some images from the Press Preview at the Fairmont Waterfront on March 7th. Student designers introduced their sketches for the challenge and were interviewed by several media and industry professionals.
