Owning a professional pen and tablet, or as some people call it "drawing board" is many creative individual's dream, myself included. Today we are very excited to have the chance to get our hands on a high end product that is 27 inch in size with HD resolution display, with both Pen and touch functions.

Wacom Vancouver, the industry leading company who specializes in interactive Pen displays & Tablet system came to LaSalle College Vancouver to present their newest product that was just released this month, they also brought one of their top line product: CINTIQ 27QHD Creative Pen & Touch Display for us to try.

LCV instructor Angel Torrella took this perfect opportunity to show student how do Matte Painting using a pan & Tablet system, creating seamless and astonishing images. A matte painting is a painted representation of a landscape, that allows graphic artists to alter, manipulate and create the illusion of an environment that is not present at the actual location. This technique is widely used on graphic design, animation and in the film industry.

In the example picture, Angel used matte painting techniques in Photoshop to alter the picture of a historical Vancouver landmark – Vancouver Art Gallery. You can see the before and after images in the animated gif above.

Students were also very excited to try out this high-end industry professional level touch & pen system.
