Preparing your English

English Language Proficiency Policy

(Effective September 15, 2014)

Applicants whose native language is not English (regardless of immigration status or citizenship) wishing to study at LaSalle College Vancouver for its Certificate or Diploma programs MUST demonstrate their proficiency in English by accomplishing one of the following:

  • Complete an online language assessment, obtain a minimum score of 50/60 supplemented with an interview with Admissions.
  • Complete an English as second language program that has an equivalency outcome of B2 level into the Common European Framework (CEF)
  • IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent
  • Have graduated from an English speaking post-secondary school.

Language Courses

If you are not fully comfortable in the English language, you may take language courses at Languages Across Borders Vancouver, one of the three languages schools that is part of LCI Education network. They have a variety of courses and schedules for your to choose from. You can either take some language courses prior to your program starts at LaSalle College Vancouver, or you can also take evening language courses during your study at LaSalle College Vancouver.
