Chef John Bishop of acclaimed restaurant Bishop's visits LaSalle College Vancouver
On March 13th Celebrity Chef, cookbook author and acclaimed restaurateur John Bishop came to judge our Culinary Students final exam.
The students had to research one of their favourite Celebrity Chefs and this term they chose Vancouver based Chef John Bishop. They had to create a 4-5 course degustation tasting menu including an Amuse Bouche, Pallet Cleanser and matching Cocktails to emulate the food style & techniques of the Chef they chose. Everything from the table setting, plate ware, glassware and menu must be presented through the Celeb Chefs style with their own individual & creative touch.
When we reached out to Chef Bishop to attend the final he was thrilled to do so.
Chef Bishop’s words when he saw the entrée of sous-vide venison and roasted rack of lamb served was “It looks like something I would have plated, this is real restaurant quality”
Chef stayed after the tasting to give words of wisdom and encouragement to the class. This was such a great opportunity for the students to talk with the Celebrity Chef and a day they said they will never forget.
