Last quarter in our Game Art and Design Program, our students were presented to the first LCV Industry Challenge during our Critical Game Design course.
During the 6-week challenge, the Australian company Liminal VR challenged our students to create a VR environment that should engage the users in either a calming or energizing experience. The two environments presented at the end of the challenge were highly appreciated as can be read in the testimonial below:
"It is an absolute pleasure to have LaSalle College Vancouver as a Liminal VR Education Partner. The Critical Game Design class led by Charles Cue was outstanding and the teams created two high quality calming experiences for the Oculus Go in a very short period of time. Charles did an amazing job at motivating and educating the students who all clearly understood the brief and had read the Liminal Psych Docs. We look forward to continuing our partnership with LaSalle and can't wait to see what future cohorts will create!" -Damian Moratti, CEO Liminal VR
Besides the learning outcomes, our students now have a shipped Virtual Reality environment on their portfolios and experience with an actual game design company as a client.
