LCV High School students adopted the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals to help drive forward our quest to be more thoughtful and active community and global citizens.

This year, students tackled Zero Hunger and explored the challenges that arise from food insecurity.

As students moved from theory towards advocacy-through-action, a three-pronged campaign was born, with the goal to raise awareness and achieve tangible results.

This program is based on three main pillars:

  1. To collect and donate non-perishable food to City Reach here in Vancouver.
  2. To pilot and implement an LCV campus food composting program.
  3. To research and promote the benefits of using urban spaces to grow our own food.

It is by offering and teaching this type of initiative that we will make a better world for all.
