Last week, LaSalle College Vancouver (LCV) hosted its first VIP (Virtual & In Person) Convocation to celebrate our graduates' achievements.
This year has definitely challenged all of us, and LCV's Convocation ceremony had to be a bit different due to the pandemic. With social distancing in place and livestreamed throughout the building to family bubbles and to those at home, it was an incredible celebration of our graduates while preserving provincial health authority guidelines.
The Convocation ceremony was a beautiful evening which included the presentation of diplomas, celebration of our Gold and Silver cord recipients as well as outstanding achievement recipients. An assortment of graduating students from Fall 2019 and Winter, Spring and Summer 2020 quarters concluded their programs and were able to cross the stage with their families.
Thank you to LCV alumni Mr. DJ (Harshit Grover) from the Professional Recording Arts program, Wallace Felix Ebinuma from the Digital Film & Video program, and Corban Daniels from the Digital Photography program for executing the music, graduate portfolio broadcasting and livestreaming for the evening. All three also crossed the stage last week to receive their diplomas.
Congratulations graduates! In the words of Sylvia Dzirba-van Rooyen, Interior Design Program Director at LaSalle College Vancouver, "As you all move on to the next phase of your lives, you are going to face new challenges. But whatever they may be, you can be confident that you have what it takes to overcome them. We all look forward to seeing what you accomplish next!"
