MediaX is an informative networking event at The Art Institute of Vancouver, bringing together visual effects and animation professionals, alumni, enthusiasts, and current and prospective students. This evening event will feature industry professional spotlights and Q & A sessions with talented professionals currently working on the highest level productions.

Three of our industry Spotlights

Nathan Thomas | Cinematic Artist at Electronic Arts.
Formerly: Senior Animator at MPC, Image Engine, Walt Disney Company, Rainmaker and United Front Games.

Nathan has a wealth of experience as an animator at the highest level of both visual effects and video game production. He will discuss his career in the industry, what it takes to be successful, and showcase some of the exciting projects he has been a part of.

Erika A Lehner| Maya Animator & 3D Generalist / Render Technician at Nitrogen Studios
Formerly: 3D Generalist and Stereo Artist at Genre8, Senior Rotomation Artist and Training Lead at Prime Focus.

Erika has an interesting background in layout, animation, rotomation, rotoscope, stereo and rotopaint. As a 3D generalist at some of the world’s biggest VFX studios Erika has a broad knowledge of today’s VFX pipelines and will be discussing her career and what it takes to succeed in the industry.

Alex Martinez | VFX Compositor / Roto-Paint Artist – Method Studios

Alex is a graduate of the AiV VFX program and has had an exciting career working on some of Hollywood’s biggest VFX movies.
