VANCOUVER, BC, April 26, 2016 – Former Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) President, Leslie “Skip” Triplett, has been elected Chair of the Board of Governors of LaSalle College Vancouver, a growing private boutique design school located in the Yaletown district of Vancouver, and part of LCI Education network, boasting 22 campuses on five continents.

In making the announcement, LCI Education network President Claude Marchand said Dr. Triplett’s knowledge, expertise and leadership will be a major asset to LaSalle College Vancouver, and comes at an opportune time in the college’s development.

“With his extensive experience in education and his all-embracing association with numerous organizations and boards, we are more than thrilled to welcome Dr. Triplett as Chair,” said Marchand. “We are confident that Dr. Triplett will help lead LaSalle College Vancouver through a successful transition from a college to a degree granting institution.”

Dr. Triplett served over two decades at KPU in various senior capacities including two successive terms as President. He helped lead the institution through its transition from a local community college to a teaching-intensive university with an international reputation for education innovation. Since leaving KPU, Dr. Triplett has been Managing Partner of Triplett & Triplett Advisors, and was tasked by BC Premier Christy Clark to conduct a review of BC’s Community Gaming Grant program. In addition, Dr. Triplett has chaired the BC Centre for Education Information Standards and Services, the Credit Counselling Society, the University Canada West Board, and was the BC coordinator for the 1991 Government of Canada's “Citizens' Forum on Canada's Future” (Spicer Commission).

“I am humbled by this election by my Board colleagues,” said Dr. Triplett. “We look forward to providing strategic direction and oversight to a truly outstanding team of professional post-secondary educators at LaSalle College Vancouver. Together with them, we intend to add exceptional value to our students, our stakeholders, and our affiliates in the LCI Education network.”

Dr. Triplett holds a BA from Concordia University, an MBA from Simon Fraser University, and an LL.D. (Honoris Causa) from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
